OOTW: A Cape, A Cape

I don't know about you, but I love light clothing.
Light not as in color light but as in featherweight light. I would be classified as a relatively small person (162-5cm depending on my slouch) and anything heavy weighs me down.
Case in point: the blogger favorite Acne Velocite jacket: I've tried it on multiple times, always in the hopes that it suddenly looks fabulous on me, but every single time, good God that thing weighed half my weight and felt like I was carrying a small child on my back. I couldn't even stand up straight. So despite it looking absolutely gorgeous on other people, it just doesn't fit my frame.
What kind of outerwear does fit my petite frame? Fitted double-breasted coats, trench coats with a belt that gives a visual curve, leather jackets that hug me in all the right places- all lovely yet so... classic (aka basic). That's why I am in LURVE with this cape right now. I've had it for a year now but I rarely get it out much because it does impede arm mobility (get out of the road when I'm driving in it!).

But hunny does it pull an outfit together or what? Throw on some skinny jeans, ankle boots, a hat and call it a day. You'll look polished and sophisticated, and it took about 10 minutes to dress. That is a win-win in my book.
I was feeling aces this glorious day because I had just consumed a delectable brunch. That post will pop up on Friday, so I won't spoil the surprise. If you know me, though, it shouldn't be too much of a mystery what went in my belly.
We managed to capture this just at the golden hour, but in mere minutes, that golden light slipped away from our fingers, as seconds and minutes do like sand grains in an hourglass, so forgive the contrast in light in some of the photos.

I love the pop of burgundy echoed in my hat and my Goyard.
 Signature hair toss natch.
This area serves as stunning backdrop. I'll be coming back here for more OOTW.
And can I please ask: whatever happened to the wonderfully civilized practice of ladies wearing gloves all day every day? Leather and suede in winter, lace and linen in summer. How chic! How glamorous! It certainly appeals to the germaphobe in me- I love when I can touch random surfaces like restaurant door handles and not contract the whooping cough in the next few days.
For ring photography purposes, I slipped off my gloves. The little lizard in rose gold and stones is just divine.
Rose Gold Rings: Doota Jeweler (delicate stacked ones similar here // double attached stacked similar here // snake ring similar here)
Nails: Chanel Le Vernis in Gondola
Purse: Goyard PM

This is where the light gets a little orange.
Maroon Floppy Hat: Doota Vendor (similar here or the one on super sale here)
Cape: H&M (similar here and here)
Skinny Jeans: DL 1961 Emma Legging Jeans
Ankle Boots: H&M (similar here and here)

Face was super minimal that day. I couldn't be bothered with concealer or foundation or powder, but that golden hour light should be bottled and sold.

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown
Eyeliner: MAC LiquidLast Liner in Black
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 3 in Limit (light dusty rose matte) on the inner eye corners and Nooner (medium pinky-brown matte) on the outer eyelid
Mascara: Fairy Drops Platinum Waterproof Mascara in Black
Lip Gloss: YSL Glossy Stain in #12 Coril Fauve

 BALLS.
When in a cape, twirl, girl, twirl!

Hope your Monday was magical, as all Mondays should be!
