OOTW: Alexander Wang x H&M

You know what I've just realized, like the brilliant genius that I am? I've been naming my OOTD blogposts all wrong! They're technically OOTW (outfits of the week) because it's not like I post one daily or anything. Name change implementation starts from today.

In the interest of keeping it real, a lot of these photos are of me looking either very sulky or angry. That's because the sun was almost always directly in my eyes (we took these photos around noon) and despite the gorgeous amounts of sunshine that we were blessed with, please excuse the eyeballs. I promise I do not look this aggro in real life.
The War Memorial of Korea is located a stone's throw away from my home in Yongsan. Because of the spacious architectural entrance, there are often large-scale concerts and benefits thrown in the front courtyard. I can see the laser effects and crowds from my apartment, but curiously enough, I've never visited the Memorial itself. I guess one of the ironic things about living in a large international city is that you take everything for granted, and the close proximity of the Memorial only made it a passing thought as I drove by it daily.
Can we please acknowledge publicly that my co-star today was my Starbucks cup? At this time of the year, my favorite drink is a Soy Peppermint Mocha, minus whip cream and topping. Delicious and minty!
The War Memorial is exquisitely built, juxtaposing natural elements of an artificial waterfall with the historically important outdoor displays of authentic aircraft and tanks that were critical in fending off the North Korean invasion in the Korean War.
Starbucks cup for the win.
The courtyard is expansive, inviting, and the open spaces convey accessibility where people can sit and have picnics and contemplate the sacrifices of the brave Korean soldiers, both North and South.
Trying to understand the current situation of a technically ongoing war, a war that pits brothers and sisters, tears apart families, all because of a Communism vs Capitalism heavy-handed proprietary interest by the Western governments and the USSR Cold War.
I may be smiley but the grave nature of this memorial really hounds home the sacrifices of the brave soldiers who fought in the Korean War.
Wearing my Alexander Wang x HM. It was a bit draft, to be honest, but my leather jacket certainly fended off the wind efficiently.
The wind was blowing agreeably, so some artsy photos follow:
I only look sour-faced here because that sunlight strength tho.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Alexander Wang x HM (limited edition but a similar one with cutouts here)
Leggings: American Apparel (similar here)
Bag: Michael Kors Mini Selma Messenger

This was suuuuch a belated post! I'm going to try to be a bit better on making sure that the OOTW posts are scheduled on Mondays so we have a little consistency. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding when I'm late on my blogposts. A big MUAKS to all of you!

Happy weekend!
