OOTD: Hurrah for Houndstooth

Technically it's still autumn but someone please explain to me why it feels like winter in Seoul already?

I took these photos in Seoul before leaving for Dubai, when the weather was crisp but still warm enough during the daytime for wearing a skirt without tights.
I came back to -9°C weather gah!
There was this gorgeous wall of vines artfully draped that made the perfect backdrop.
Over-the-knees boots are totes having a moment right now, but can border Pretty Woman when you wear it with a short-length skirt, so I paired them with soft pink neutrals and kept the focus on the houndstooth skirt.
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked Palette in Naked (buff matte) all over lid, Sidecar (beige sparkle) on inner corner, Buck (brown matte) from mid-to-outer lid corner
Eyeliner: MAC Liquidlast Liner in Black
Cheeks: Soap & Glory Love At First Blush (obsessed with this since I bought it in a Thailand airport Boots!)
Lippie: Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink (and now they have a Coral color OMG!!!)
Necklace: H&M (similar gorgeous version here)
Houndstooth is such a traditional pattern. For me, it always brings about connotations of foggy Scottish Highlands and classic cigar smoking rooms (random!). A close cousin of the Scottish tartan pattern, the black-and-white check pattern is graphic, and it's best to pair it with soft neutrals so you don't have clash.
Pink ribbed sweater: Zara (similar here)
Houndstooth skirt: Korean brand (similar here)
Over-the-knee flat boots: Aldo (similar here)
Coat: Zara (similar here)
Purse: Prada Saffiano 2274
Attempting a twirl...
I am totally obsessed with houndstooth this season. I might get an all-over houndstooth coat but that will be pushing- nay, shoving- me out of my camel/black woolen winter coat comfort zone, so we shall see.

Happy Monday! Christmas is coming!
