OOTD: Determination

Please excuse the background.
I just saw the dirtiest of fences surrounding a parking lot, and I loved how spectacularly it failed at taming the nature around it. The bushes and grass and weeds and nature all just insisted on growing, whether the fence was there or not. I thought that was a subtle, important reminder to myself how to never accept things as they are if I don't like them- perseverance and determination will make even mountains move. Thus, I will pepper this OOTD blogpost with quotes about determination and persistence- your eyes can start rolling now :)
"It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things." ~Leonardo da Vinci

Now on to the OOTD: this dress looked long and big and blah on the rack, and I was 98.5% sure my petite frame would be swallowed up in its multitudinous folds.

Thank goodness I tried it on- the back is absolutely divine!
The back drops low and the straps intertwine and weave a complex love song.
The pattern reminds me of stained glass windows adorning little old European churches.

I think it's time for another perseverance quote riiiiight about now!:
"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I had it tailored to my height when barefoot because, left alone, it was a tad too long to be sweeping along sparkling white sand beaches, as how I'd envisioned the garment to be worn when I purchased it.

Bag: Michael Kors Selma Mini Messenger
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs in gold rose (similar here or here)

Look at those bushes grow!:
"If plan A doesn't work, the alphabet has 25 more letters- 204 if you're in Japan." ~Claire Cook

What stunning autumnal sunsets we've been having here in Seoul!
...and parting with a final quote:
"In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins; not through strength, but through perseverance." ~H. Jackson Brown

Have a good Monday!
