OOTD: Back to the East Travel Edition

I wrote this wayyyy in advance in order to schedule it to publish right when I left Europe and was just awaiting the photos I'd take at the airport, but then a series of misfortunate incidents occurred. I was originally supposed to leave Europe Sunday June 2 at 4PM. After check-out of the fabulous Marriott München (amazing pool, btw!), we went to a leisurely brunch at what is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in München, Theresa Restaurant (proper restaurant review on that coming up!). While eating lunch, the car got towed.

We had 2 hours to get the car from impound, take me to the airport 20 minutes away in pouring rainy Sunday traffic, and get me checked in. We made a valiant effort, but due to the complete incompetency and prevarication of the München police, we got there 20 minutes before the flight took off, and had to rebook a ticket for the next day.

Not to worry! We decided to make lemonade out of lemons and go to the nearby Therme Erding, the largest indoor sauna/waterpark in Europe, to splash away our monetary waste and woes. Not a bad way to drink those lemons.

ANYHOO. Long story short, I had an OOTD post ready for you but I didn't upload the photos so here they are, 2 days behind schedule, but better late than never. Does it count that I'm still wearing my clothes because I've just arrived in Seoul? ^_~

For the airplane trip back to Seoul, I am bypassing the sweatpants and cap that so many of our disenchanted youth sport today as what they believe is appropriate flight attire. This really comfy pair of jeggings from Zara is one of my travel favorites. Notice the pattern of the denim? Apple juice sloshing from the turbulence, a meatball escaping the confines of its plastic tray, a few sprinkles of salt from the dried-up peanuts- all of those things could land on my jeggings and no one would be the wiser! The material is thin enough not to not feel like I'm wearing 3 layers, and the stretch fabric allows me to sit cross-legged in my seat in comfort.

I've got the requisite skull-made-out-of-gold-stars tough-but-sweet shirt on, the skull bit hopefully deterring any small talk from my seatmate, the gold stars preventing me from looking like a goth-emo teenager. This comfy t-shirt is also from Zara, and yes I paid around $20 for a shirt that looks and feels already worn in. Don't judge me.

I'll need a jacket to see me through in Munich Airport but anticipate taking it off once on the airplanes. My Barbour lightweight, waterproof trenchcoat will serve me excellently here. It's breathable and can be folded into a small compact ball when I don't need it.

I'll be back in Europe in three weeks so I feel like I should start getting ready to go back. HOWEVER I need to be in BEAST mode for my workout and diet because JUNE 29 is D-Day!!! I won't reveal just what it is yet but it's going to be a crazy and wild ride!!! So excited!!!
