Product Review: Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

This is one of my holy grail items that I absolutely can NOT live without. I've tried various cleansers of different brands, high and low, from Dior to Chanel to Clinique to Korean brands such as Missha and Etúde House. My face is, like many other girls out there, a combination of oily and dry, with fluctuations throughout the seasons due to humidity and dry cold air. I required a face cleanser that would leave a clean, fresh feeling, without any residual oils on my face, without any stinging due to an astringent formula.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash is THE face wash for combination skin. Broad leaf kelp to minimize excess oil and wheat protein hydrates the dry areas of your face. I love that it doesn't have parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or dyes, petrochemicals... all of the nasties that make your face feel burned and pulled are absent from the Origins formula. It results in a pearly, gentle, luxurious foam that rids my face of dirt and oil.

It does have a faint fragrance of what I call CLEAN, but apparently it's a mixture of spearmint and lavender. My nose is useless for these faint subtle smells, but the smell isn't overpowering nor artificial, so it's fine by me.

I use it religiously, every time I wash my face, twice or three times a day. I've noticed a massive improvement in the quality of my skin since using it about two or three years ago, and now I'm proud to say that my face glows and looks clean even without concealer, foundation, or BB cream on. I attribute this face wash to my minimal daily makeup routine, and I would recommend this to ANYONE in a heartbeat. It is worth its weight in gold.
