Squeezed: March Edition

I mulled over what to call these blog posts in which I describe all the goodies I used up per month-ish. Several clever names threw themselves at me ("Donezies!" was runner-up, gag) but I decided to use "Squeezed" instead because I'm not a 5 year old.

I love these posts because it forces me to use products that would have been otherwise taking up space in my house. I tend to overbuy and hoard just in case of eminent North Korean invasion or zombie Apocalypses, but it's all getting a bit too much. I'll also be doing a "Shop the Stash"-type post in the future, so keep an eye (just one!) out for that.

March was quite fruitful in terms of emptying out my cupboard. I managed to get a lot of droplets squeezed out of these suckers:

  1. Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque with Amazonian White Clay (my review of this here): I loved this so much that I didn't wait til I'd used it all to buy my second jar. I can't rave about this product enough!
  2. Origins Drinkup Intensive Overnight Mask: Also another great product, but definitely a winter item. In the summer I prefer a lighter moisturizer.
  3. Origins Brighter By Nature SPF 50/PA+++ Sunscreen: This product has been discontinued by Origins, leaving me to scream WHYYYYY. I love this product and still have a few tubes hoarded from when I purchased them en masse at Duty Free at Incheon International Airport before a jaunt to Singapore last fall. I don't know why Origins replaced it with a tinted BB cream version. Sometimes I just want sunscreen on my face without coverage, naw'mean?
  4. Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream: This lotion apparently smelled so good that I left the empty tube around and my dog thought it was a delicious treat. Consider it SQUEEZED.
  5. Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave: This is a total "MEH" product for me. Just like toothpaste, I consider it a fail if the product doesn't foam, even though the foaming aspect is completely unnecessary.
  6. LUSH Dream Cream: Apparently this is LUSH's "number one, best-selling product of all time", but I found the texture sloppy and the smell unappealing. I hate dipping my hand into creams and lotions, and this was no exception. Additionally, because it's organic, it doesn't keep very well. I put it on all over my body recently without checking the expiration date which was about a year ago (I told you I don't use my products!) and the next day, I was itchy and had small red lumps everywhere that didn't go away until I took a shower. Gross! A bit ironic as it's supposed to "care for irritations, reduce redness, and banish blotches". No repurchase here.
  7. L'Occitane en Provence Creme Mains Dry Skin Hand Cream in Shea Butter: An AirMall purchase, I have like 10 more tubes of these in various scents. I will have the softest hands when the zombies come!
  8. The Face Shop Hand Cream in Apple: I got suckered into this by the packaging. Not really all that rave-worthy but it's a drugstore item so cheap, smells good, and does an okay job... of looking cute.
  9. Aēsop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream: This is advertised to "soften and hydrate lips", but honestly, it just soaks into my lips and doesn't feel that hydrating. I have to reapply several times because it doesn't feel like I have anything on my lips within 2 minutes of application. Worthless.
  10. Nars SPF 30/P+++ Pro-Prime Multi-Protect Primer/Base: I usually don't wear face makeup during the week but when I do, I love how this primer keeps the foundation/powder/cream on ALL day.
  11. Esteé Lauder DoubleWear ZeroSmudge Curling Mascara: The best part about this mascara is that you can bend and mold the wand to conform to your eyes, so you get maximum reach into the inner eyelashes. The wand is great, the formula not so much. Maybe I'll take the wand out and use with another mascara? Ooh.
Yay! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see how much I've used up in a month. I'm just a little worried that the day I finish all my products will be the day that zombies or North Koreans attack, and I'm stuck in my house with one tube of hand cream to last me the entire siege. >_<
